Long pointed buds that open into semi-double fragrant, rich orange-yellow flowers with a red-yellow back: red veining. Strong smell. Large, semi-double (9-16 petals) inflorescence.

Francina (“Fanny”) Elsje Blankers-Koen (April 26, 1918 Lage Vuursche – January 25, 2004 Hoofddorp), Dutch athlete (“the flying housewife”), won 4 gold medals at the 1948 London Olympics (100m, 200m, 80m hurdles, 4x100m relay), plus a number of European championships in 1946 and 1950.

Fanny Blankers Koen personally baptized this rose in Haps at JVP in 1959.
